DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES 25 APRIL 2008The GSMA Mobile Innovation Market has a global goal to find, support, and elevate the very best innovations. A large part of this initiative includes the Mobile Innovation Global Awards, which recognizes excellence and showcases innovation in the mobile industry. The Americas portion of the 2009 GSMA Mobile Innovation Global Award Competition is now open!

By entering your product, service, or idea, you engage in a rich industry competition led by Mobile Operators and Investors. You’ll have the opportunity to win one of two finalist slots and a trip to Barcelona, Spain, where each Marketplace finalist will compete for the Mobile Innovation “Global Champion” title.

From the innovation award entries received, 15 Top Innovators will be invited by a judging panel to present their entry at the Mobile Innovation Marketplace - Americas event in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on 3-4 June 2008. The call for entries deadline for the Americas tournament is 25 April 2008, so enter today!

The 2009 Mobile Innovation Global Awards categories are:

* Most Innovative ‘True Mobile Start Up’
* Most Innovative Carrier Infrastructure or Platform
* Most Innovative Consumer Application or Service
* Most Innovative Mobile Application in a Vertical Market
* Most Innovative Wireless Device-Centric Technology

Mobile Innovation Market members get one free entry per membership year. The cost of membership is €500, which includes one free entry. Each additional entry is €500.

Other Mobile Innovation Marketplace events being held in the next few months will also choose finalists for the Mobile Innovation Global Awards Competition. These events include the Marketplace, being held at the Mobile Asia Congress in Macau in November 2008, and the Marketplace at the Mobile World Congress, being held in Barcelona, Spain in February 2009.
