La obra corresponde a un proyecto de título de la Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Talca, Chile (www.talca.org). Esta escuela se emplaza en el valle central de Chile, y se caracteriza porque en el último año académico, en su proyecto de título, el alumno debe diseñar, gestionar y construir su primera obra de arquitectura.

Se construye un sendero reutilizando las antiguas rutas de trashumancia que conectan el secano interior, abordando aéreas que se han visto inmersas en un proceso de vaciamiento territorial debido a la estructura de soporte del territorio. Este se aborda desde las políticas centralistas, siendo administrado por divisiones políticas y no por las homogeneidades que las vinculan hacia la perspectiva del territorio asumido como dominio y extensión.

Desde esta este punto de vista, los seis miradores construidos aparecen como un pívot de referencia y continuidad dentro de una estructura segmentada, consolidando las inflexiones territoriales que asume la ruta desde su perspectiva de recorrido y accesibilidad, teniendo en cuenta los elementos paisajísticos, económicos, sociológicos e identitarios del territorio de soporte.

Asumir las problemáticas de trabajar en diferentes comunas y de diferentes regiones plantea un sistema de gestión del proyecto que burle los sistemas burocráticos que lo entrampen, asumiendo una gestión personalizada que busque optimizar los márgenes legales, aprovechando la poca capacidad funcionaria de organismos tales como Chile compra, vialidad, Sernatur y estamentos municipales.

La estructura de los miradores plantea una visión del reciclar elementos de madera (despuntes) que en empresas forestales se considera basura producto de la elaboración y redimensionamiento de estas.
